About Barbara Smith:
Barbara focuses her practice on the corporate, tax and regulatory concerns of businesses, health care providers and nonprofit organizations. She has served as general outside counsel to two multi–hospital systems. She has also served as principal legal counsel in multiple types of transactional representations, including mergers, acquisitions, sales, affiliations, joint ventures, reorganizations and financings, as well as contract negotiations.
Barbara received her M.B.A. from Pepperdine University in 1974 and her law degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1977. Barbara served as President of both the Cleveland Bar Association and the Ohio Women’s Bar Association. She was a member of the Leadership Cleveland Class of 1999 and was chosen as the Northern Ohio Live Top Woman Rainmaker of the Year for Law in 1999. She serves on the Professional Advisory Committee of the CWRU Law-Medicine Center. Barbara speaks and publishes widely on business, tax and regulatory issues. |
